Meet Our Community
Home & School Association
The mission of the Saint Matthew Home & School Association is to bring together parents, teachers, parishioners and other patrons of the school in common support of the students, the school itself, the Diocese of Nashville and the Catholic Church.
There are four officers who manage the affairs of the Home & School Association (HSA), along with several committees that assist them. All parents are invited to become a member of the HSA. Dues are $25 and cover many activities held throughout the year including lunch on Lion Challenge Day, rollerskating, parent and family socials, lunch for faculty & staff during Catholic Schools Week and a parenting seminar with dinner. HSA officers also coordinate two major fundraisers during the year, a fall fundraiser that benefits SMS and our sister school in Haiti, as well as our Mane Event that raises money to enrich the Saint Matthew experience. Previous projects include playground equipment, Timberline courtyard, iPads, buses for field trips, science lab equipment and technology equipment. If you would like to pay HSA dues at this time, please proceed to the parent portal section of the website.
The Boosters are the muscle behind the machine – the volunteer organization that supports athletics. Together with the Athletic Director, they work throughout the year to promote spirit, raise funds and assist in running the program. Through their fundraising efforts, they have been able to purchase uniforms, complete the game and practice soccer/football fields, hang safety mats in the gym and subsidize fees for athletes to participate in sports.
Saint Matthew School Board is a consultative body that lends its members various expertise to assist both the Principal and the Pastor in the daily operation of the school. The School Board meets monthly throughout the school year and consists of various stakeholders in the Saint Matthew community. Board members monitor policy directives in various domains for the school. In addition to participating in Marketing, Finance, Facilities Management and Advancement, the Board was instrumental in initiating the Strategic Plan, which will be one of the primary guiding documents used by Saint Matthew over the next five years. Members of the School Board support Saint Matthew in time, talent and treasure and are an integral part of the management of our wonderful institution.
