Saint Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving Food Boxes
Saturday, Nov. 14 & Sunday, Nov 15

Each year, the Saint Matthew Saint Vincent de Paul chapter provides Thanksgiving food boxes to families with children whom they have assisted throughout the year, helping families enjoy a delicious, home-cooked Thanksgiving meal together.

Traditionally, Saint Matthew School students help meet this need through a grade-level service project. The school is once again committing to fill 30 boxes. However, with a significant increase in the number of families our Saint Vincent de Paul chapter has served this year, we need your help to provide an additional 35 boxes!

These boxes support families right here in our community that have reached out to Saint Matthew for help. Additionally, approximately 10 of the boxes will be given to new and expecting mothers receiving assistance through Mulier Care. Will your family help make Thanksgiving special for a neighbor in need?

Our Goal: 65 Thanksgiving Food Boxes

Saint Matthew School will provide 30 boxes, and we are asking parishioners to help fill 35 additional boxes. You may sign up for more than one box if you’d like each member of your family to participate! If we receive additional food boxes, larger families may receive two food boxes and any additional items will be saved in our food pantry to be distributed as the needs arise.

How to Fill a Box

Sign up below to provide one complete food box. Each box should contain one of each item listed below, with an estimated total cost of $20–$25. Please purchase the full set of items rather than donating individual items in bulk.

All food must be nonperishable and in cans, boxes, or shelf-stable packaging.

  • Cranberry sauce
  • Canned corn
  • Canned peas
  • Canned green beans
  • Canned yams
  • Boxed cake mix or packaged cookies
  • Boxed mashed potatoes
  • Packaged gravy
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Flavored gelatin (Jell-O)
  • Hearty beef soup
  • Canned fruit (peaches, pineapple, mixed fruit)

If possible, please also include a $25 gift card to Kroger, Publix, Aldi, or Walmart. This will help families purchase a turkey and fresh vegetables for their Thanksgiving meal. Every family will receive a gift card, so if you are unable to provide one, Saint Vincent de Paul will ensure one is included.

Gift Card Donations

Prefer to donate a gift card separately? You can drop off gift cards to Kroger, Publix, Aldi, or Walmart at Saint Matthew on the weekend of November 14–15 or provide a monetary donation button below to contribute.

Drop-Off Instructions

Please return your complete food box to the Church Kitchen on the weekend of November 14–15.

Please package all items together in one box. If you’d like, include a short note of encouragement to remind the recipient that their community cares about them.
