Memorial Mass for Pope Francis

Thursday, May 1, 5:30 p.m.

It is customary for Catholic Churches around the world to celebrate a Memorial Mass for a pope during the Novemdiales period. For Pope Francis, Novemdiales begins on Saturday, April 26. It is a period of nine days, beginning with the day of his funeral, in which a cardinal chosen by the late pope will preside over a Requiem Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica. The day of a pope’s funeral, Saturday, April 27, for Pope Francis, is the first day of Novemdiales. Masses around the world are offered for the repose of the Pope’s soul during this period and a Novena can be prayed as well.

Saint Matthew is holding a special Memorial Mass for Pope Francis on Thursday, May 1, at 5:30 p.m. We hope you can join us.
