Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
Benefitting the RISE Youth Ministry’s summer mission trip
For years, a group of young people from Saint Matthew has spent part of their summer with one goal: to serve as Jesus did. Mission trips have proven to be life-changing for our teens, the people they encounter, and our entire community. There is a beautiful joy and renewed eagerness that everyone returns with—something truly special and lasting.
This summer, we will return to Black Mountain, North Carolina, serving the same community as last year’s Servio Deo Mission Trip. (See the work performed here). Our teens will work with individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, along with assisting in a variety of other service projects in a poverty ridden community that was devastated by Hurricane Helene in 2024. Even if you cannot attend the mission trip, you can still be part of the journey. On Sunday, February 22, the RISE Youth Group will take over the Cohan-Hansom Building to host our annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. All members of the Saint Matthew community are invited to enjoy a delicious pancake meal after the Sunday Masses. RISE youth will prepare and serve the food and will be available to share more about our upcoming mission trip.
Bring the whole family for free, all-you-can-eat pancakes and fellowship with our parish community. While the meal is free, this event is a fundraiser, and we invite you to prayerfully consider making a donation to support our teens and help offset the cost of the mission trip. Donations may be made at the event via cash, check, or through our online giving platform, Pushpay.
Curious to know which pancakes Father Raines and Father Tran declared their favorites? Be sure to check out the “Priestly Perfected Pancakes” sponsorship section below. Speaking of sponsorships, several sponsorship tiers are available for those interested in supporting the event in this way (details below).
Mark your calendars and make plans to attend! For more information on the event and to learn how you can get involved with the RISE Youth Group, please contact Michaela Miller, Director of Youth Ministry, at mmiller@stmatthewtn.org.
Sponsorship Opportunities
RISE Youth Ministry is seeking individuals, families and businesses to sponsor our upcoming pancake breakfast! Rather than selling tickets, as we’ve done in previous years, we are relying on free-will donations and sponsorship partners from the community to raise funds for our mission trip. With your generous support, breakfast will be made free to our community. There are five sponsorship levels available to purchase. Take a look at each level and its benefits below!
All sponsorships must be submitted by Monday, February 16. Click the button below to purchase your sponsorship today. If you have any questions, please contact Michaela Miller at mmiller@stmatthewtn.org. Thank you for your generous support!
