Saint Relics will be on Display at Saint Matthew
Veneration Available in the Chapel from Friday, Oct. 31 – Monday, Nov. 2
Celebrate All Saints’ Day with the saint! Relics from seven great saints, and a relic from the Scourging at the Pillar will be visiting Saint Matthew over the Hallowtide weekend. They will be on display in the chapel beginning Friday, October 31, at 9:30 a.m. and will remain on display through Masses on Sunday, November 2.
The following relics will be on display. Click their names to learn more about each saint:
St. Ambrose Feast Day Dec. 7
St. Augustine Feast Day Aug. 28
St. Charles Borromeo Feast Day Nov. 4
St. Elizabeth of Hungary Feast Day Nov. 17
St. Lucy Feast Day Dec. 13
St. Maria Goretti Feast Day July 6
St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus (St. Thérèse of Lisieux) Feast Day Oct. 1
Purple Robe & Pillar from the Scourging
The relics will be on display in the chapel beginning Friday, Oct. 31, through Sunday, Nov. 2. The relics can be accessed at the following times:
– Friday, Oct. 31: 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. (exterior chapel door)
– Saturday, Nov. 1: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (exterior chapel door) and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.(interior chapel door)
– Sunday, Nov. 2: 8 a.m to 12 p.m. (interior chapel door) and 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (exterior chapel door)
Saint Matthew will be holding a Mass in celebration of All Saint’s Day in the Church at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. This feast is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year due to falling on a Saturday.
These relics are being made available for veneration through the Diocese of Nashville Office of Archives.
