Saint Matthew Youth Soccer Clinic

June 2 & 3, 2023

Join us on the pitch this summer for the inaugural Saint Matthew Youth Soccer Clinic! Take your skills to the next level in this fun and immersive two-day clinic, hosted by Saint Matthew parent Stefan Caulfield. Coach Caulfield is a former NCAA Division I soccer player and coach who was a member of the U20 Canadian National Team and Ottawa Fury FC in the Premier Development League.

This clinic is designed for soccer players with previous experience and familiarity with the game. The purpose of the clinic is to enhance and fine-tune existing skills. All rising second through eighth-grade students with previous soccer experience are invited to attend. Learn more about the clinic and Coach Caufield below, and click the button below to register.   • June 2-3, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • Drop-off at 8:40 a.m.
    • Pick-up at 2 p.m.

8:40-9 a.m. – Drop-off

9-10 a.m. – Ball skills

10-11 a.m. – Passing/Finishing

11 a.m.-12 p.m. – Small-sided games

12-1 p.m. – Lunch

1-2 p.m. – Game play

2 p.m. – Pick-up

This clinic is designed for soccer players with previous experience and familiarity with the game. The purpose of the clinic is to enhance and fine-tune existing skills. It is not intended for players new to the sport; this is to ensure the best experience for all. All rising second through eighth-grade students with previous soccer experience are invited to attend.

  • $80 per player

Students should bring a soccer ball, cleats, water bottle, sunscreen (already on), and shin guards under socks.

Type of ball by age:

  • 8 years old and under – Size 3
  • 8-12 years old – Size 4
  • 12+ years old – Size 5

Meet Coach Caulfield

Coach Stefan Caulfield is a Saint Matthew parent and a current member of the Saint Matthew School Board. Born in Toronto, Canada, Coach Caulfield was a member of the Canadian U20 national team in 2005 and 2006. He moved to the United States to serve as the netminder for the Virginia Tech Hoakies soccer team from 2006-2009. Away from the collegiate pitch, Caulfield was also a regular for the Ottawa Fury of the USL Premier Development League. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Caulfield moved back to Canada for work and continued playing soccer at a high level, competing in the semi-professional Canadian Soccer League. Coach Caulfield began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Giles County High School in Virginia and as an instructor for the Hokie Soccer Academy and the Hearts Azzurri Soccer Club. He also served as the keeper coach for Power Soccer – one of the most well-respected club programs in Canada. In 2011, Coach Caulfield moved to Nashville to join the coaching staff at Lipscomb University, where he served for two seasons. Coach Caulfield and his wife, Veronica, now live in Franklin with their three daughters, who are all current or future Lions.
