Eucharistic Revival

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” – John 6:51

The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement in the United States set to restore understanding of and devotion to the Holy Eucharist. The parish year of the Eucharist Revival, which began on the Feast of Corpus Christi on June 11, 2023, seeks to enlighten the faithful on the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist by offering new and exciting ways to learn and engage with this fundamental truth of our faith at the parish level.

At Saint Matthew, we are dedicated to fostering Eucharistic devotion and strengthening our liturgical life through the faithful celebration of the Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, resources, and formation talks centered on the mystery of Eucharist. We will update you throughout the year with events and opportunities to participate in the Eucharistic Revival.

As we continue this year of Eucharistic celebration, let us recall the words of St. Therese of Lisieux, “Do you realize that Jesus is there in the Tabernacle expressly for you? He burns with the desire to come into your heart.”

How much do you know about the Eucharist?

Four Pillars of the Eucharistic Revival

Reinvigorate Worship

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; and indeed the Father seeks such people to worship him.”
(John 4: 23)

Worship happens when the beauty of the liturgy allows a sacred environment to speak to us and reverently draw us in to commune with our Lord.

Moments of Personal Encounter

“Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how He was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.”
(Luke 24:35)

At the Eucharist, we have the opportunity to intimately encounter Jesus in adoration, contemplation, and finally by consuming Him into your body and soul.

Robust Formation

“Then they said to each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?”
(Luke 24:32)

Jesus captivated crowds by His teachings. Through learning more about the faith, we grow more in love with the faith and experience a deep transformation from within. As Scripture declares, “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

Send Forth as Missionaries

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.”
(Matthew 28:19)

As Christian disciples, we are called to bring the ever-present life of God to others through invitation and the way we live our lives.
