Saint Matthew’s Haiti Ministry proudly presents…

Saint Matthew Courtyard
21+ Event

For the past 25+ years, Saint Matthew has ministered to the Haitian community of Gobert through a partnership with Our Lady of Miracles parish and sister chapels. These parishes serve approximately 25,000 people and are located in a northern, rural area of Haiti.

Our continued support, alongside the leadership of Father Nicolas Floreal, the parish’s new pastor, and Dr. Librice, the doctor at the Gobert clinic, is helping the community meet its medical, physical, spiritual and educational needs.

Our largest annual appeal and fundraiser is the Well Played Songwriters Night, which is now in its 12th year. We are hoping to build on the success of last year’s event, which raised over $35,000.

Join us on Saturday, September 17 for a night of music, fellowship and fun! Click the button below to purchase your tickets today.

Our Songwriters

From emptying garbage cans to selling merch and managing major tours out on the road, Houston Phillips has seen the music business from just about every angle and is a true success story in the Nashville songwriting community. Armed with strong relationships built on tour, Houston first introduced his songwriting talents to the world through major cuts on Jerrod Niemann and Tyler Farr and landed his first publishing deal with Dallas Davidson at Play It Again Publishing.

As one of the newest additions to the Curb|Word family of writers, Houston has a natural ability to drive a well-crafted commercial country lyric supported by hooky melodies. He’s most inspired by veteran writers he can continue learning from, collaborators that help lock in memorable melodies, and great vocalists who bring the music to life.

Houston’s decision to step off of the tour bus with a fresh focus on writing full-time has also landed him cuts on Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins, Heath Sanders, Colt Ford, Aaron Lewis, Dillon Carmichael, Walker Montgomery, JoJo Mason, Trent Tomlinson, and many more.

JOE LEATHERS – is a Memphis, Tennessee native and highly accomplished songwriter, having earned numerous ASCAP and BMI awards from 3 Top 10 singles and cuts on several Platinum and Gold certified records. From earning the title track to Kenny Chesney’s Platinum album “Hemingway’s Whiskey” to co-penning Ruston Kelly’s “Trying To Let Her”, the diversity of Joe’s life experiences and musical influences are evident in his songwriting craft. Starting with a fresh, focused musical idea that points toward an impactful hook packed with meaningful emotions drawn from everyday life guides his typical songwriting process. “Ideas are everywhere. I’m always listening to conversations in life or in movies, television, or books, constantly trying to boil down what people are REALLY trying to say, and I try to inject that raw emotion into a song that may inspire someone else the way it inspired me.” Leather’s “swing hard, you might hit it”, approach to life and songwriting has also resulted in notable cuts on Tim McGraw, Lee Brice, Randy Houser, Clay Walker, Craig Morgan, Trace Adkins, Kellie Pickler, and many others.

Kyle Jacobs moved to Nashville from Minneapolis, MN in 2000 and achieved his first significant success as a writer in 2003 with Kimberly Locke’s Top 10 AC single “8th World Wonder.”  In 2007 Kyle wrote what became the fastest rising single in the history of country music, Garth Brooks’ “More Than A Memory”, which debuted at #1.  Kyle also co-wrote the Top 10 singles “Still” by Tim McGraw and “Dust” by Eli Young Band. Kyle has also produced four #1 singles for Lee Brice, “Hard To Love”, “I Drive Your Truck”, “Drinking Class” as well as “Rumor” which is also Kyle’s latest #1 as a songwriter.

Grammy-nominated and multiple Dove Award-winning songwriter and producer Michael Farren migrated to Nashville from Texas 16 years ago after signing and subsequently releasing three albums on Word Records with his band Pocket Full Of Rocks. In 2012, after many years of touring, Michael shifted his focus to songwriting and production. Raised with a deep love for all kinds of music, Michael has penned hundreds of songs that span multiple genres. From Lauren Daigle’s Grammy Nominated and now platinum single “Trust In You”, Reba McEntire’s Grammy-winning album title track “Sing It Now”, to Christine D’Clario’s Dove Award-winning Spanish album of the year “Eterno Live”, Michael has enjoyed diverse success.

His first commercial cut was the global worship anthem “Let It Rain”, which appeared on Michael W. Smith’s RIAA certified double platinum album “Worship”. Over the last 2 decades, numerous artists have sung Michael’s songs including Natlie Grant, Mandisa, Blind Boys Of Alabama, Alisa Turner, Finding Favour, Unspoken, Phillips Craig And Dean, Big Daddy Weave, Aaron Shust, Karen Peck, Brian Free And Assurance, Darlene Zschech, and CityAlight.

When he’s not fishing or running around in the woods in his Jeep, you can find Michael living in Franklin, TN with his wife Alisa and two daughters Madison and Mykah.
