Weddings at Saint Matthew
Saint Matthew Catholic Church welcomes your interest in celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in our church. A wedding celebrated by believers is an important religious ritual not only in the life of the couple and their families but also for the parish church community as a whole. Saint Matthew parish provides rites within the Order of Celebrating Matrimony as a part of our ministry. Because it is the responsibility for the proper administration of the Sacraments, we have organized the following guidelines to assist you in understanding how to plan for marriage preparation, how to organize the ceremony, and how to plan for a rehearsal dinner or wedding reception at Saint Matthew parish.
When a couple has made the decision to get married, often the first question might be, “When are we getting married?” Actually, the first series of questions might more properly be, “How are we getting married?” or “Who do we want to prepare us for Holy Matrimony?” Once the minister (Priest or Deacon) has agreed to provide marriage instruction, the schedule of the minister who will preside is to be taken into account as the couple decides when the ceremony may occur.
You may also contact Deacon Dan Pyles at email@example.com to discuss the details of the wedding.
